Barista Position

We are currently hiring for barista positions at our Third-Wave microroastery/cafe in Walnut Creek! We are one of the select few roasteries in Walnut Creek and in the greater east bay in general. We have decades of experience in the high end coffee industry and are seeking outgoing, driven and passionate individuals to teach this wonderful craft to. Learning how to taste and prepare coffee of this quality is truly empowering. It will open doors for jobs within the specialty coffee in any major city on the globe. There will be opportunity for growth and the potential to learn a great deal about coffee production and roasting.

Requirements:

• Prior experience working in retail, especially in the coffee industry, preferred but not required (we’re awesome baristas and teachers)

• The ability to communicate well with customers and peers

• Must be comfortable working in a high-energy team

• Ability to be on your feet for extended periods

• Availability to work 20 – 40 hours per week, around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, and weekends

• An outgoing, polite, engaging personality

• Must be detail-oriented and comfortable following recipes and operating procedures

• Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence

• Must be able to lift up to 20 lb boxes periodically
