Coffee is an extremely difficult crop to grow, harvest and process. In order to produce excellent coffee farmers must pay very close attention to their practices and procedures including painstakingly harvesting only the ripest berries off of a coffee shrub. This means that, for high-grade Arabica coffee beans, each branch of each shrub must be harvested multiple times in order to get the ripest berries.

Coffee is also susceptible to many pests and diseases that create a high-risk for growers. Truly, it is a small miracle every time you have the opportunity to to enjoy a great cup of coffee.
